Description
An adaptogen originally cultivated in India and used in Traditional Ayurvedic Medicine, where it is known as Tulsi (“the incomparable one”). In describing the flavor of Holy Basil tea, many have described as being simultaneously sweet, spicy, and bitter, with traces of licorice and clove that can accent any combination of herbal infusion.
All parts of the plant are considered useful as a medicine, including stems, seeds, and leaves, and is used to uplift the mood and calm the senses, to treat the symptoms for common viruses and influenza, headaches, an upset stomach, stress, to decrease pain and inflammation, and to lower blood sugar in people with diabetes.
