Praised as a “gift from God”, or “Yasmin” in ancient Persian, from which the name of this remarkable plant originates, the flowers of the Jasmine plant are used in a variety of teas and natural medicine.
Having a sweet scent and a pleasing, though slightly bitter flavor, it is often paired with Oolong and Green Tea variety of Camellia sinensis, and can brighten any combination of herbal infusion.
Traditional Ayurvedic Medicine describes Jasmine flowers as useful in balancing emotional disturbance and alleviating anxiety, stress, insomnia and depression. It can also be used to regulate respiration, and calm spasms associated with persistent coughing.
